With just under a week until the 2023 St.Giles Balfour Burn, registrations are on track to surpass the 300 runners who took part in 2022.

“We realised that at it’s core the Balfour Burn is a family event, so we changed our pricing strategy last year so you could enter once and run as many times as you like” event organiser Scott Gelston said.

“Children love being able to run up and down all afternoon, adults not so much” Mr Gelston said with a laugh.

The 2023 event also has strong support from the local business community, with Tasmanian Wealth Management and St.LukesHealth coming on board as major sponsors.

Tasmanian Wealth Managment’s Clinton Pentland, and James Dilger with St.LukesHealth’s Ben Davis showing off the new for 2023 St.Giles Balfour Burn running tops.

Tasmanian Wealth Management director James Dilger said their business had been looking to sponsor a community event for some time and the Balfour Burn is their first major fundraising partnership.

“To us the Balfour Burn is a perfect fit”, Mr Dilger said.

“It’s an iconic event that brings people together from across the community – who wouldn’t want to be involved.”

St.LukesHealth Chief Marketing Officer Ben Davis said the event aligns with their vision of making Tasmania the healthiest island on the planet.

“We are excited to support St.Giles in their valuable work to improve the health outcomes of Tasmanians living with disability, and this initiative is one that gets the community moving and connected which is important to overall health and wellbeing.”
