Autism Services for Adults and Children

Our specialist teams offer diagnosis, therapy and other supports to meet the needs of children on the spectrum and autistic adults.

StGiles offers a number of autism-specific programs including:

Autism Services for Children – Statewide

    • Statewide therapy services
      • Comprising of Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Psychologists, StGiles’ therapy services aim to provide the opportunity for children on the spectrum and autistic adults, and their families, to participate more fully in the community.
    • State-wide support services
      • Our support professionals are highly skilled in supporting children on the spectrum and autistic adults. Our team can tailor a program to meet the individual needs of the participant and their family.

Autism Services for Children – North West

 

  • The ASELCC is a specialist early intervention program for children with autism and autism-like characteristics embedded in a long day care service.
  • The ASELCC runs the specialist intensive program at Burnie (Blue School) which is co-located with a mainstream Education and Care Service, Alexander Beetle House, and in Devonport (Bee Me) delivered with Malangenna Children’s Centre.
  • Autism Intervention in Mainstream Education and Care (AIM) Services
    • AIM Satellite Service available at selected mainstream education and care services:
      • Malanagenna Children’s Centre, Devonport
      • Elanora Children’s Centre, Devonport
      • Circular Head Child Care Centre, Smithton
      • King Island Early Learning and Care Centre, King Island
    • AIM Satellite Establishment Program
      • Education and Care Services state-wide can contact the Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre to become a satellite service. The ASELCC will support the service to apply for Innovation Funding and develop an Autism Action Plan that supports the capacity building of educators and leadership.  Call 6454 1222 to discuss the options.
    • AIM Individual Transdisciplinary Programs
      • Families on the NW coast can use their NDIS funds to access a transdisciplinary service for their child and family within their existing long day care or family day care service. Call 6454 1222 to discuss the options.

Autism Services for Adults

  • Social Leisure and Inclusion Program for autistic adults with high support needs
    • Currently available in Launceston and the NW Coast.
    • This program offers an autism-specific day program for autistic adults who need high levels of support to engage with the community and connect with others.
  • State-wide therapy services
    • Comprising of Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Psychologists, StGiles’ therapy services aim to provide the opportunity for children on the spectrum and autistic adults, and their families, to participate more fully in the community.
