St Giles is a recognised leader in supporting Tasmanians with disabilities live to their full potential by delivering a comprehensive range of early intervention, therapy and support services. Specifically, on the North West Coast, our Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre team deliver early intervention programs embedded in early childhood education and care centres, and work to build the capacity of families, the services and the community through training, coaching and research. Working with us, your knowledge, skills and experience will directly assist in enriching the lives of autistic children and their families.
The Early Childhood Teacher role offers the successful applicant the opportunity to work as part of a great team with a highly competitive salary (especially with salary packaging available), professional development opportunities both internal and external and the opportunity to work with high staff to child ratios, and low caseload numbers (compared to mainstream teaching opportunities) You will play a critical role in early intervention program delivery to children with autism and autism-like characteristics at our Devonport Bee Me Program (delivered in conjunction with Devonport Child Care Centres). This position will involve working closely with educators, other early childhood teachers and the centre’s allied health team to implement each child’s individual plan which is delivered within our specialist early intervention program. The Early Childhood Teacher will also have the opportunity to deliver early intervention services in other settings including other ECEC services, and individual and group therapy programs.
Prior to commencing employment your will need to ensure you have the following:
- Full unrestricted Australian working rights
- Qualified Early Childhood Teacher
- Registration with Teacher Registration Board of Tasmania.
- Drivers Licence
- National Police Check and a Working with Vulnerable Persons check (child-related activity)
