Physiotherapy

child with building blocks

Physiotherapy aims to maximise a child's ability to live an active life by promoting development of movement skills and functional abilities.

St Giles assists children with:

  • development of sitting, crawling and walking skills in babies and toddlers;
  • development of movement skills such as crawling, walking, running and jumping;
  • development of skills such as running, jumping, balance and coordination in preschool and school age children;
  • monitoring development in premature and 'at risk' babies;
  • unusual walking patterns such as in turning feet and toes;
  • improvement of functional abilities such as sitting, balance and coordination;
  • specialised physical management equipment requirements such as standing and walking frames for children with more complex needs.
