Family Support (Launceston and Hobart)

St Giles' Family Support teams in Launceston and Hobart offer parents emotional support and counselling, support with practical issues, information, advocacy, referral,  and support engaging with other services.

Emotional Support/Counselling for all family member

• Coming to terms with diagnosis of developmental issues

• Coping with change and critical transition stages (eg kindergarten entry, primary to secondary school and post school options)

• Ongoing challenges for families, parents and siblings

• Practical Support  - information and advice

• MyTime (a parent peer support program) – groups operating in Launceston, Newstead, North West Coast and Scottsdale/St Helens
• Sibling support group - Launceston
• Behaviour Management  - understanding and responding to difficult behaviours
